Hourly Range: $12.00-$14.00 per hour
JOB SUMMARY: A stocker is responsible for maintaining customer service. He/she is responsible for stocking and maintaining inventory levels, controlling expenses, shortages, and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control. He/she is responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping procedures during stocking of store.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
- Implement and maintain customer service standards.
- Maintain all merchandising standards, display presentation and monitor inventory levels.
- Ensure housekeeping policies are maintained during stocking procedures.
- Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures, emphasizing loss prevention and safety.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
- Able to efficiently use a box knife.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all grocery store floor areas.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area, and register area.
- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to perform his/her duties.
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time, occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, good finger dexterity and feeling, frequent repetitive motions, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to move or transfer merchandise throughout the store generally weighing zero to one hundred pounds.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Any other duties as assigned by store director.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal grocery environment.
