Position: Grocery Department Leader
you will be responsible for ensuring an organized and smoothly run grocery department. Primary categories included in the department are grocery, frozen, dairy, refrigerated, bulk and general merchandise. This position requires a strategic and hands on leader who can drive initiatives related to strategic planning for labor, operating expenses and capital spending as well managing staff, overseeing inventory, and elevating customer service to guarantee a positive shopping experience. You will report to the Store Leader and will support the store leadership. You will foster an engaged, motivated and diverse team member base aligned with the company’s missions and values.
Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Planning:

Sound financial management skills to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.

Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability.

Monitor and analyze sales and customer data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Train, and supervise department staff, ensuring that they provide excellent customer service and follow company policies and procedures. Implement operational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for staff and customers.

Schedule and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance employee development as well as conduct 1:1 meeting with each team member once a month.

Monitor inventory levels and oversee replenishment processes using reports and data.

Implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize waste and shrinkage.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and maintain optimal stock levels.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and company policies.

Oversee merchandising and product placement to maximize sales and optimize shelf space.

Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).

Proven experience as a Supermarket Manager or in a similar role.

Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices.

Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations and standards.

Strong understanding of financial management principles.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
