Accounting Clerk
Northeast Philadelphia Contractor seeks a motivated and organized Accounting Clerk for our accounting department. A successful candidate will perform various accounting clerical tasks such as A/R billing/receipts, accounts payable, union benefit processing, G/L account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, various compliance reporting and general accounting department support. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Post accounts receivable billing and receipts to the general ledger
- Process daily deposit slips and receipts vouchers
- Process union benefits payments for various building trades
- Work with job teams in processing subcontractor payments
- Matching, entering and processing payment for hauling invoices as needed
- Monthly operating and payroll account reconciliations
- Weekly petty cash and expense reimbursements
- Compliance reporting for DBEs & certified payrolls
- Process affiliated company accounts payable and reconcile intercompany vendor statements
- Provide general support and backup to the office and accounting department including check runs, mail, covering switchboard when needed, etc.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ Years of accounting experience in a similar role
- Solid Oral and Written Communication abilities
- Willingness to learn proprietary accounting software
- Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Heavy focus on detail is required
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
