Quality Control Inspector for Painting Job Summary
We have an immediate opening for a Quality Control Inspector for our paint line. In this role you will maintain a variety of paint and coatings test equipment. Develop and coordinate paint quality audits. Remove or discard all products that fail to meet specifications. Examine canopies for defects or deviations for specifications. The Quality Inspector is responsible for making sure that products meet a set of standards.
Quality Control Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checking that the assembly production line adheres to standards and procedures and complies with company requirements.
- Recoding inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works, and inputting data into a database.
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
- Proposing improvements to the production process
- Assisting the development of test methods and inspection plans
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks
Quality Control Skills and Qualifications:
- Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
- Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control Supervisor non-conformances reports.
- Control of storage and certification of consumables.
- Performs qualifications of coating processes.
- Checks surface preparation.
- Checks and records atmospheric conditions prior to starting of painting operations.
- Carries out wet and dry film thickness checks.
- Monitors observations of the correct coding cycles.
- Verifies the correct colour-coding and painting.
- Performs visuals inspections.
- Performs adhesion testing.
- Performs penetration testing.
- Evaluates impact testing.
- Performs visual checks after blasting.
- High school diploma or GED
