The Development and Alumni Relations office at Pace University is seeking an individual for the position of Development Associate. This is an opportunity for an individual who desires to build a successful career in development and fundraising. This individual will report to the Executive Director of Development Operations & Annual Campaign. The Development Associate will work closely with the Executive Director and a member of the team in coordinating and supervising all administrative tasks and functions between the offices reporting to the Executive Director. The position is responsible for high-level correspondence as well as technical and logistical support.
Position Duties

Management of the office's daily operations, maintaining the timely and effective flow of information within the team.

Provide support and assistance to Systems, Operations, and Annual Giving team members.

Anticipate and identify appropriate supporting documentation and briefing materials for team members, consisting of but not limited to: research materials and historical gifts, biographic and prospect information.

Initiate, draft, review, and revise correspondence.

Coordinate all aspects of correspondence, providing necessary research on all requests and problems.

Work closely with the Annual Giving team to strategize, collaborate, and create cohesive outreach initiatives.

Coordinate and schedule appropriate and timely meetings, including working to execute annual plans that involve working with vendors, seeking approvals and managing timelines.

Support the team through time management, and maximizing logistical opportunities. Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and cogent briefing materials before meetings as necessary.

Coordinate, by scheduling meetings and follow-up, the annual personnel evaluation process for those staff members reporting directly to the Executive Director.

Triage questions, issues, and tasks received by various members of the team.

Proactively identify and prioritize critical issues. Initiate appropriate responses and follow through. Present a range of informed choices for the Executive Director‘s review.

Coordinate internal processes including information technology requests, accounts payable processing, and facilities requests.

At the direction of the Executive Director prepare reports, briefings, agendas, etc. other than those described above.

Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with additional hours as needed.

Bachelor’s degree required. Master's preferred.

At least two years of professional experience in a related field, including development, marketing, or public relations.

Demonstrated commitment to non-profit organizations and an interest in higher education. Previous experience in fundraising is preferred.

Must have proven written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The ability to work in a team setting, manage multiple competing priorities, and a willingness to work a flexible schedule with minimal supervision is also required.

Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented-Self-motivated and results-oriented.

Exhibits sound judgment, a positive attitude, and good interpersonal skills.

Interest in and aptitude for conducting research on high-profile alumni and philanthropists.

Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty, and outside groups.

Experience with fundraising software and with constituent management systems is a plus, but not mandatory.
