Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
- Analyze and reconcile accounts and transactions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior accountants and other staff.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements and accounting best practices.
- Assist with financial planning, forecasting, and risk management.
- Manage accounting systems and software and recommend improvements.
- Resolve accounting issues and discrepancies and provide solutions.
- Assist with accounting projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Five or more years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, AJERA and VantagePoint.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, such as GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Leadership and mentoring skills.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of SURI - Hacienda.
