Position: Database Administrator

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of our database infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer Oracle database systems (version 8.x / 9.x / 10.x or newer).
- Design, develop, and implement Data Warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures and functions.
- Perform database performance tuning at both the database and OS level.
- Implement and maintain database security (create and manage users/roles, assign privileges).
- Manage database backups and recoveries using RMAN.
- Experience with Unix/Linux administration (Solaris, Unix, Linux) including installation, upgrades, user management, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Fix ORA errors, perform database refreshes, and manage database migrations.
- Participate in database change management processes.
- Plan for future database growth and capacity.
- Understand and adhere to remote DBA support SLAs and metrics.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide technical guidance to development teams.
- Develop and maintain database documentation and standards.
Optional Skills:
- Experience with reporting tools (Discoverer, Focus, Crystal Reports, etc.).
- Ability to create remote DBA support proposals, interface with onsite teams, and implement various remote support models.
- DBA certification (preferred).
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a DBA with a strong understanding of Oracle database administration.
- Proven experience in Data Warehousing, ETL processes, and data management.
- Expertise in PL/SQL programming and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with database performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and physical database design.
- Experience with database backup and recovery processes (RMAN).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
