Central Supply
Our skilled nursing facility is looking for a talented and hard-working individual for Central Supply.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain procurement, stocking and delivering objectives and standards. Monitor procurement, stocking and delivering practices for compliance with established Policy and Procedure.
- Stock all medication rooms and designated unit storage areas.
- Ensure all purchase orders are properly prepared and submitted as required.
- Perform all necessary administrative requirements, completing necessary forms, reports, etc, and submitting to the Administrator/designee as requested.
- Process claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc. and return to vendor as required. Review complaints and grievances and make necessary oral and/or written reports to the administrator/designee.
- Develops and monitors adequate inventory control procedures.
- Participate in research and demonstrate new products/equipment for the facility as approved.
- Ensure inventory is updated, as required, when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment.
- Organize storage and catalog location of supplies and equipment for efficient handling and preventing deterioration. Ensure storage instructions are complied with.
- Ensure various departments are properly charged with supplies and equipment they have received for cost allocation purposes.
- Ensure that no orders are placed for personal use or for other staff.
- Communicate with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning, procurement, stocking, and delivering programs and activities.
- Assure that stock levels of supplies, equipment, etc. are maintained at adequate levels at all times.
- Assure that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform authorized duties/services.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Self Starter, team player, ability to follow direction.
- Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment that is subject to multiple interruptions.
- Must be computer literate and possess strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Prior nursing home experience a plus.
Must be able to lift and carry heavy boxes (50+ pounds).
Medical Records Responsibilities include:
- Auditing and thinning open medical charts;
- Closes and files the medical charts of residents/guests who have moved out (discharged) of the home. Reviews medical record information and ensures compliance for correction of deficient documentation;
- Assumes responsibility for diagnostic Moving In (admission) and Going Home (discharge) coding index;
- Ensures that all Moving In (Admission) Orders are signed by the attending physician in a timely manner;
- Ensures all Medicare Certifications and Re-certifications are signed in a timely manner;
- Notifies Physician Care Partners in reference to compliance of resident/guest visits and progress notes;
- Assists nursing care partners in maintaining neat, organized, accurate and complete medical charts ;
- Maintains accurate record of annual flu/pneumonia vaccine program;
- Answers telephone inquiries and answer correspondence, as needed;
- Writes, types and distributes advance notices for admissions, re-admissions, room changes, any status changes, discharges, etc. to appropriate care partners in the home;
- Obtains all appropriate departmental and physician care partners’ signatures on medical charts within 30 days of moving out/going home (discharge);
- Upholds residents/guests’ individual needs and rights in the home;
Performs other duties as requested.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.13 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
