Veritas IT Solutions is looking for a remote-based field technician to join our team! We are an MSP serving the New England area, with a focus on the greater Boston area, and have been in business for over a decade. We are specialists in providing service and support to Dental/Medical offices and small to mid-sized businesses, as well as planning, building, and deploying a wide variety of technical solutions and office renovations. Our Field Technicians have outstanding customer service skills, strong problem solving skills, attention to detail and excel at diagnosing problems to bring resolution. They will be a strong communicator who is team oriented and adaptable with a drive to ensure the best service is provided to our clients.
Field Technicians must have the ability to travel to various clients' locations across New England as needed. This is a Monday through Friday position during normal business hours, with occasional evenings & weekends to accommodate client or business needs. This position also requires being on-call one weekend a month.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties
Visit clients in offices ranging across New England and provide technical assistance. This includes supporting PCs, servers, networks, phones, camera and security systems, and printers, as well as their associated software and application packages.
- Independently diagnose and resolve issues on-site and remotely. This includes researching solutions using company documentation, working with other technicians, and using the internet to find answers.
- Work with other technicians to complete larger on-site and project-based tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Be the on-site liaison for remote team members and engineers.
- Follow in-house support procedures, log all interactions with clients, and document task and project resolutions, as well as billable time entries.
- Be able to assess new client locations which includes documenting all the IT infrastructure on site, ask questions about the client's current and future needs, and document these for the sales team. Communicate with the sales/project team as to the client's technology needs.
- On-board new clients based on the company's processes and procedures.
- Quickly learn the technology stacks used by our clients.
- Legally operate company vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications
- At 3-5 years of experience with installation & troubleshooting Windows PCs and servers, network equipment, and software packages, such as Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work both on-site and remotely from home.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with customer focus and the ability to mediate conflicts.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, energized, and able to perform multiple tasks when on-site.
- Ability to work independently, self-managing with general supervision.
- Practiced time-management skills, including arriving early to client sites.
- Strong analytical skills, including researching solutions.
- Maintain a valid driver's license in the employee's state of residence, allowing them to legally operate a company vehicle.
- Climb ladders up to 16 feet, work in limited-space areas, and other related physical tasks required by the position.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience working as a field tech and as a helpdesk/desktop support technician.
- Experience working for an MSP.
- Professional Certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP, or other technical certifications.
- Documented experience in performing on-site assessments for pre-sales engineering.
- The ability to build systems and servers "from scratch".
- Knowledge of installing network cabling, punch-down panels, and cable termination.
- A set of personal tools, such as power tools and PC/networking tools.
Stand-out Qualifications
- Mid-tier Windows and/or Networking certifications, including Office365.
- Experience with Cloud-based services such as Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of medical and/or dental practice software, such as 2D & 3D systems, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, OpenDental, Epic or Cloud Systems.
- A/V system installations.
- Restaurant POS systems, such as Toast.
- Biotech Lab Technician experience.
- Ladder and/or scissor lift certifications.
