As a Medical Record Specialist, you act as the guardian of patients' health histories, ensuring everything flows smoothly and securely. Your role involves not just pulling charts for patient care, quality checks, and audits, but also meticulously scanning and organizing records, all while ensuring strict adherence to laws like HIPAA. Plus, you're the go-to person for releasing info to patients and other healthcare facilities, making sure everyone has what they need, when they need it.
This is an in-office position based out of ConvenientMD's Headquarters in Portsmouth, NH.
Your Impact

Ensures patients have medical records in their medical chart and request records from previous provider group/s.

Electronically records, tracks, files incoming medical records.

Update patients’ electronic health records (EHR)

Able to supports Clinic and Population Health team in obtaining medical records as needed.

Observe confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information.

Responsible for coordinating the release of medical information to insurance companies, lawyers, state, hospitals, provider groups and federal agencies.

Verify authorizations in accordance with ConvenientMD’s policy and procedures and state and federal laws.

Follow all HIPAA regulations

Ensure that all requests for records are stamped with date received and logged in the correspondence tracker.

Notify requester when records are available.

Adhere to ConvenientMD requirements, policies, and standards.

Provide excellent customer service.

Proper filing of all records.

Answering inbound calls in the medical record department.
Who You Are
-
3-5 years medical record experience preferred.
-
Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.
-
Previous hospital and/or provider office or medical record management company experience required.

Skilled in all of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively learn new knowledge and skills.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Ability to commute into the Portsmouth office Monday - Friday.
