ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Adhere to all guidelines and approved menus and recipes when preparing meals, snacks, and all other food items.
- Ensure meals and snacks meet standards for taste and appetizing presentation.
- Assist with preparing for special events, including holidays and community marketing events both in and outside of the community.
- Follow guidelines for preparing special diet meals. Prepare substitutions to meet resident’s requests.
- Assist with serving residents as needed.
- Follow all sanitation, disposal, food labeling, and food storage guidelines and regulations. Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
- Responsible for cleaning dining services areas as directed and as needed.
- Be prepared and plan for all meals and snacks to ensure timely service for all meals, activities, and events.
- Assist Dining Services Director with purchasing food and supplies, taking inventory, accepting deliveries, stocking, and maintaining safety as directed.
- Communicate any observed concerns, issues, or resident changes to management immediately.
- Always have a friendly and helpful attitude with residents, families, and guests.
- Encourage teamwork among all departments and assist with conflict resolution.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all protect health information or personal information of residents and employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned and are consistent with the success of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age Requirement:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education:
High school diploma
Experience:
Prefer one (1) year experience in food preparation and safe handling.
Communication Skills
Clearly able to speak, read, and understand English. Can follow oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted and with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Handles exposure to extreme heat and cold.
Other Requirement:
Employee must pass a criminal record clearance, health screening and drug testing prior to beginning work in the community.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to regularly listen and speak to individuals, stand for long periods, move about the community, bend, reach, and grasp, lift up to 20 lbs., and assist with walking residents. Good vision is required.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
