A globally recognized ISO Tank Container Operator with established presence in the Americas is seeking a Manager of Business Development and Portfolio Management based out of its Houston, TX office. This position offers an exceptional opportunity.
Manager of Tank Business Development and Portfolio Management is a position that will not only ensure future growth but will also be a focal point for technical know-how and ensure existing customers are maintained by others to the highest standard. This will include generating leads and attracting new prospects to develop a pipeline, maintaining current knowledge of market trends in the tank container marketplace, continuously achieving metrics and KPIs while supporting our existing customer base.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Acting as subject matter expert for all things ISO tank related from a technical or logistics perspective.
- Spearheading development of new customer relationships and rejuvenating inactive accounts.
- Taking the lead in any special projects or complex pricing scenarios, where dedicated fleets, unusual requirements, or other to-be-defined situations where a failure to do so could jeopardize the business.
- Developing, maintaining, and administering the training necessary in order to equip the staff with the knowledge they need to represent and sell the ISO tanks.
- Acting as mentor in regards to ISO tank product knowledge.
- Coordinating the distribution of ISO tank accounts and ensuring that all opportunities are appropriately followed up.
- Working in conjunction with Pricing on establishing monthly margin targets, to ensure that the fleet moves with minimal idle time.
- Monitoring quote output of the Pricing team to ensure adequate follow up is placed on all opportunities.
- Acting as liaison on procurement topics with Pricing where necessary to score business.
- Maintaining business development meetings to keep the business.
- Monitoring the accounts receivables for the ISO Tank accounts and managing the escalation process when necessary.
- Actively participating in process improvement projects and advancement of the ISO Tank department tools and processes.
- Providing backup to Pricing to stay abreast of pricing trends.
- Problem solving along with operations team any roadblocks to customer satisfaction and developing corrective actions to drive constant improvements.
- Utilizing Salesforce to ensure transparency, and champions it’s use across the organization.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in ISO Tank Container logistics
- Must have minimum 5 years of ISO Tank Container technical knowledge
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Business Development in the logistics industry, with a focus on the chemicals product
- Hazmat Certification a plus
- Experience with Salesforce a plus
- Very strong negotiation and presentation skills
- High achieving, ambitious and result-oriented
- Must exemplify professionalism and leadership qualities with strong organizational and time management skills
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make formal presentations on a professional level to key executives and groups of industry experts.
- Must possess strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Sales CRM.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field is a plus
- Must have a valid driver's license, a dependable automobile and acceptable motor vehicle record
