*Description of role:
Seeking a detailed-oriented individual to join our accounting team as an Accountant. The Accountant will be responsible for time sheet processing, purchase orders, accounts payable (A/P), client invoicing, accounts receivable management. This position will report to the Manager of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Processes vendor invoices and employee expense reports, including accurate posting to general ledger accounts, in a timely manner.
- Prepares and sends monthly client billings, including all supporting documentation to ensure contract compliance.
- Works with clients and team members regarding invoice issues.
- Contacts and follows up with clients on past due invoices.
- Posts daily cash receipts transactions.
- Schedules and prepares vendor payments, including any ACH debits. Obtains signatures, mails, and distributes checks in a timely manner.
- Oversees 1099 and W-9 maintenance.
- Maintains all accounts receivable/accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and accounts receivable/accounts payable files.
- Prepares certified payrolls.
- Reconciles petty cash, including reviewing and verifying documentation.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Performs general clerical duties, including, but not limited to, filing, photocopying, faxing, typing, and mailing.
- Performs other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required as an Accountant.
Skills and requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in business administration, accounting, or similar field preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a professional service industry company (A/E firm).
- Must be detailed oriented and highly skilled in dealing with financial and numerical data.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, work effectively in a team environment as well as independently, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Deltek Vision highly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and basic office equipment.
