Job Title: Senior Director of Operations
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Job Summary
The Director of Operations will direct the manufacturing and warehouse operations including production, scheduling, maintenance, purchasing, warehousing, logistics and shipping & receiving. Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the operations organization. Manage and develop a team, providing feedback, coaching, and guidance to support their growth and success.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Essential Duties
-
Directs the manufacturing and warehouse operations including production, scheduling, maintenance, purchasing, warehousing, and shipping & receiving.

Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the operations organization.

Demonstrates transformational leadership behaviors in the improvement of Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery performance measures.

Collaborates with leadership team in formulating and establishing company policies and operating procedures.

Ensure the optimal utilization of resources, equipment and facilities.

Monitor, evaluate and improve the performance and efficiency of the operations processes and teams.

Leads areas of responsibility to meet profit, business plan, and budget goals.

Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.

Ensures the total operating objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies.

Report to the COO and provide regular updates and reports on the operations activities and results.

Education and Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations management or related field or demonstrably equivalent experience and skills gained through relevant coursework, certifications, or on the job training.

Master’s degree in business, engineering, operations management or related field preferred but not required.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution or industrial setting.

Proven track record of leading and managing successful operations teams and projects

Experience in software implementation is a plus.

Demonstrated experience in applying lean, continuous improvement and quality principles and practices.

Certification in operations management, lean, quality or related field is a plus.

Travel Requirements
This position requires frequent overnight travel and routine travel within the workday.
Driver Qualification
The ability to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of the company is required. Inclusion in the company’s driver qualification program is required to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle.
Becoming a qualified driver includes:

Agree to the company driving policies that apply to company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle as applicable.

Possess and maintain a valid driver license and be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Maintain an acceptable driving record, as evidenced by completion of a baseline motor vehicle record check and ongoing monitoring.

When driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company, must provide a copy of the declaration page from personal auto insurance that shows the policy dates and minimum coverage amounts ($300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage per accident or if driving less than 5 hours/200 miles a year $50,000 bodily injury per accident/$10,000 property damage per accident or the state minimum, whichever is more). This requirement is initially and then annually thereafter.
