POSITION: Pavement Inspector
Tigerbrain Engineering is seeking to hire Pavement Inspectors. This position will be a full-time traveling position that will work at airfields, and intermodal facilities throughout the US. There will also be opportunities for international work as well. This position will report to the Vice President of Construction. Tigerbrain pays for all travel and housing expenses. Food and incidentals are covered by a GSA daily per diem.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects asphalt and concrete paving operations on Intermodal and airfield facilities
- Provides quality assurance inspections for asphalt and concrete paving operations
- Determines whether construction is in compliance with plans, specifications and standards
- Knowledge of ASTM, UFGS, UFC, FAA, Bi-Sc Dir 85-5 (NATO), ICAO paving standards is a plus
- Assists in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed
- Writes inspection reports, weather reports, and documents test results and observations
- Tests soil density, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials
- Verifies form construction, rebar placement, concrete mixture, pile driving, drainage structure placement, subgrade and base construction
- Understands and is able to interpret engineering designs, maps, and plans
- Understands and can operate survey instruments to confirm alignments and elevations
- Participates in construction meetings as required
- Must be willing to travel to domestic and international project sites in support of short-term data gathering and review meetings
- Must be willing to travel for up to 6 to 8 weeks at a time.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving operations, road cuts, repairs, resurfacing and milling
- Other duties as may be assigned
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Frequently operates various equipment to include, but not limited to, hand and power tools
- Communicates with the public, clients and co-workers; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Frequently moves materials and office equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions
- May be required to work in inclement outdoor weather conditions for up to four (4) hours
- Frequently operates motor vehicle for up to eight (8) hours; of which four (4) hours may be continuous
- Must be able to position self to work under or around various items to perform tasks
- Constantly inspects and assesses equipment, buildings and materials to complete tasks
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in concrete/pavement construction inspection.
- Applicant must be a US citizen and capable of passing US security background checks
- US military contract requirements do not allow dual-citizenship or non-US citizens
- Applicant must pass drug screen and driving record check
- Applicant must be willing to acquire all required vaccinations necessary for travel
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Competitive pay commensurate with experience, starting at $75,000
