Skyship Services, Inc US is seeking an experienced Logistician to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) program. The TARS program leverages aerostat systems to provide persistent surveillance and detection capabilities, to the U.S. Government customer across eight (8) different operational sites along the US Southern border in multiple locations including Puerto Rico, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
Responsibilities
- Acquire materials from source directed vendors to replace equipment in kind with equipment currently being used by the Government to preclude multiple system or subsystem configurations, additional logistic burden and increased sustainment costs.
- The acquisition of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) software and hardware that may serve as stand-alone devices or be integrated into aerial target systems or subsystems.
- Support the acquisition and delivery of non-commercial hardware and software materials, such as spare and repair parts for aerial targets, aerial target subsystems, and other related equipment including mechanical, electrical, and contour surface parts.
- Provide logistical support for aerial target system, sub-system and spare parts sustainment activities including receipt, storage, inventory management, information assurance and data base management and sustainment, property accountability, requirements determination, requisitioning, issuing, packaging and shipment of various aerial target hardware.
- Establish commercial shipping accounts to support the acquisition and delivery of equipment.
- Provide transport of equipment in the Fort Bliss, TX, and White Sands Missile Range, NM, area of operations including Holloman Air Force Base, NM.
- Procure launch equipment, ground support equipment, spare parts, test equipment, special tools and other necessary equipment required to operate and maintain the target systems
- Provide logistical support and assist in the program management of aerial target programs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the procurement and delivery of commercial, non-commercial, hardware and software materials to support the development of government systems.
- Experienced using government supported procurement and shipping systems for the acquisition and delivery of government technology systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing experience, the ability to convey technical designs, ideas and results to non-technical audiences and to provide briefings to high-level government personnel.
- Experience acquiring both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) software and hardware components.
- An active DOD Secret or higher level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or other related Engineering discipline.
