Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
The Shipping Clerk reports to the Manager, Shipping and Receiving and is responsible for preparing shipments to customer facilities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Boxes and labels materials with appropriate shipping information.

Accurately compares products to purchase orders.

Checks and verifies that item lot number is accurate and matches goods.

Prints labels.

Cross-trains on shipping tasks – packing, pulling, and processing.

Maintains warehouse in clean and orderly fashion.

Learns new procedures and accepts new assignments within reasonable timeframes, to be agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.

Recognizes and resolves problems; troubleshoots malfunctions in procedures and uses alternative methods if available.

Coordinates efforts of effective work activities that contribute to company needs.
Requirements:
EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Great attention to detail.

Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Understanding of purchase orders / shipping documents.
-
Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Previous warehouse and/or shipping experience preferred.

Forklift experience preferred.

Good judgment in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instructions.

Effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking pertinent questions when clarification is needed.
PHYSICAL / SPECIAL DEMANDS

Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.

Ability to use hands repetitively for up to 8 hours.
