Job Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a culinary professional with a passion for entertaining, creativity, and managing all aspects of kitchen operations. This role will involve working at our in-house wedding venue, Silver Swan Bayside, as well as various off-site locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Chefs in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Assist in leading and managing kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Coordinate and execute catering events, including weddings, corporate events, galas, cocktail parties, and intimate dinners.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their specific dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and assist in ensuring cost-effective operations of the kitchen are upheld.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with event coordinators and other staff to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Continuously innovate and develop new menu items, staying current with culinary trends and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Banquet Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar role in a high-end catering or fine dining establishment. Hotel/Banquet Experience greatly encouraged.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional culinary skills, with a creative flair for menu development.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
