Against the Grain collects spent grains from local breweries and distributes them to our local farmers. Breweries fill their "toters" (wheeled recycling bins) with spent grains and we use an automated tipper to empty the toters into the truck upon arrival. The toters are on wheels but can exceed 200lbs at times.
After emptying the toters into the truck we rinse them with our gravity fed wash system. Once we have visited all of the breweries on the list for the day we head on out to one of our partnered farms to "dump". Then you drive back to home base, fill out the daily work log, and you're done!
We are a start up company and want any applicant to be aware that there may be tasks that are not bulleted or explicitly described in this listing. That said, we always keep an open dialogue about comfort levels, work load boundaries, and prioritize safety above all else.
If you're into supporting circular economies, the environment, and hands-on work in the sustainability field this position could be a great match for you!
