Outside Sales Representative

In business over 100 years, AMPCO METAL in Sturtevant, WI is currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative. This position will offer the ability to travel across North America.

Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- Customer Experience Liaison. Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and customers. Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with both potential and existing customers. Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat customers.
- Opportunity and Pipeline Support. Educate customers on how AMPCO Metal products and services can benefit them. Drive sales initiatives within your territory by developing and maintaining an action plan and when needed, a counter measure. Generate quotes and process new orders. Monitor industrial competitors and market conditions to understand customer specific needs.
- Post-Sale Activities and Support. Drive territory development by collaborating with the Director of Sales. Perform post sale follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and uncover continued selling opportunities. Maintain records of all sales leads and customer accounts in CRM system (HubSpot).
- Teamwork. Routinely interact with Inside Sales Team, Operations and Finance. Works with the executive team to help develop, support and drive company goals and initiatives. Attend weekly sales meetings to provide territory feedback and discuss open opportunities with territory. Routinely build upon your own product and application knowledge by working with internal and external AMPCO resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business and/or three (3) to five (5) years of experience in metals manufacturing, metal machining, other metals manufacturing environment, or B2B industrial sales environment preferred.
- High comfort level in initiating conversations and a well-developed phone presence is a must.
- A self-starter with a can-do attitude
- Detailed oriented and highly organized
- Ability to understand basic mechanical applications and interpret engineering drawings and photos.
- Ability to travel 30 to 45% within North America. Travel to Europe and South America may be required for initial training and periodic sales conferences.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, CRM and ERP software programs
