JOB SUMMARY:
Ensures safe, efficient operation of all refrigeration equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, and other related systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance of all equipment.
· Applies operational procedures as required by state and local codes. Maintains log of all equipment status and inventory of parts and materials necessary for repairs. Maintains and tracks Refrigerant recovery and use under EPA standards.
· Assists all other trades in the Facilities Department, Mechanics, carpenter, Electrician, Hotel Tech. painter and others as directed by Shift Supervisor.
· Weld, solder and braze, as required with knowledge of using a “hot work permit.” Assist with maintenance, repairs and operation of the Casino and Hotel facilities, building systems and equipment.
· Assist in performing maintenance and repairs on HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems as needed.
· Maintain records of maintenance and repairs using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
· Abide by safety policies and report safety hazards to Supervisor / Department Manager.
· Keeps all equipment, equipment rooms and other assigned areas clean.
· Fabricates, installs, repairs and maintains all facets of the building structure, exteriors and other amenities to include, but not limited to, all mill work, walls, ceilings, floor coverings, basic electric, HVAC and/or plumbing.
· Mixes and applies paint or other surface coating to wood, steel, plaster or other surfaces using a brush.
· Maintains and repairs commercial gaming furniture as instructed by the department manager.
· Be a participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions. Contribute to the improvement of the business with ideas.
· Work with all departments for the overall good of the casino.
· Respond to emergency and critical situations.
· Provides fast and flawless service to every customer.
· Must be knowledgeable of regulations.
· Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
· Performs duties as assigned, always presenting oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Technical certification preferred but not required.
· Must possess a Universal EPA Refrigerant License.
· Must have at least 5-years’ experience in building/hotel maintenance. Minimum of 3-years’ experience working with refrigeration equipment, commercial kitchen equipment and other related systems.
· HVAC experience and Stationary Engineers License preferred.
· Must have a working knowledge of plumbing, electric, industrial kitchen equipment, locksmith protocol, rough and finish carpentry, drywall techniques, ceiling tile installation, floor covering and painting.
· Knowledge of hand and power tools required.
· The ability to use test equipment including, but not limited to, multi-meters, temperature probes, and circuit tracers.
· Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
· Ability to use technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
· Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures.
· Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
· Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
JOB DEMANDS:
· Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Position requires 20% standing, 80% walking.
· Requires frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching overhead.
· Must be able to work in tight places for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures.
· Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, climb ladders and wok on man-lift type equipment.
· Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal and external customer contact.
· Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
