Position Specifics:
Department: Parts
Reports to: Store Manager / Corporate Parts Manager
Supervises: May supervise Parts Counter Salesperson and Parts Staff
Purpose:
Responsible for parts operations within the store location to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Execute parts department standard processes.
Responsibilities:
o Works with the Corporate Parts Manager to develop and follow an annual parts department budget to provide realistic, attainable and measurable parts sales and profit goals compatible with overall dealership financial and operational objectives
o Monitors parts sales on a monthly basis to ensure achievement of budgeted sales and profit goals
o Participates in the development and execution of the Corporate Parts Marketing Plan
o Assists with the development and training of parts personnel and may complete performance reviews of parts counter salespeople and parts staff
o Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures
o Assists with counter sales to support customer needs
o Places Machine Down and Stock Orders for all vendors
o Follows up on shortages and backordered parts
o Utilizes the surplus return program for all vendors in line with dealership policy
o Maintains a clean and orderly parts department
o May perform recruiting, staffing, and employee development activities
o Monitors, coaches, documents, and reports sales person activity
o Any other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o 1+ years’ experience in Parts Department operations
o Experience leading others
o Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
o Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
o Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
o Ability to work extended hours and weekends
o Excellent customer service skills
o High School Diploma or equivalent experience
