Manages the Health Services Clinic responsibilities and staff. Responsible for Worker’s Compensation Program, OSHA Reporting System, HIPAA Compliance, and Family Medical Leave Act Compliance. Acts as a resource for ADA (American Disabilities Act) related issues. Prepares a departmental semiannual Outcomes Management Report.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responds promptly to personnel and persons served reports of illnesses or accidents, providing first aid. Providing patient education at all opportunities that arise.
Assists or performs staff training/certification in CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), Basic First Aid at Work, HIPAA, Family Medical Leave Act, and Drug Substance Alcohol Awareness.
Manages the daily activities of the Health Services Clinic, staff, and all its activities.
Assists staff with managing an up-to-date Worker’s Compensation Program, OSHA Reporting System, HIPAA Compliance, and Family Medical Leave Act Compliance. Acts as a resource for ADA(American Disabilities Act) related issues.
Generates comprehensive Workers Compensation monthly reports for review by Executive Management. Assists the agency as needed to satisfactorily comply with all audits and regulatory review requirements. Generates a departmental semiannual Outcomes Management Report.
Coordinates and Manages health and wellness programs, including the Influenza Vaccine Program, Health Fairs and Health/Wellness education.
Assists the Human Resources Director with any tasks or projects as requested. Works as a team member of the Human Services Department by responding to the department’s needs as they arise.
Continually keeps knowledge current and up to date regarding any changes in the laws or statutes of Worker’s Compensation, OHSA Reporting System, HIPAA, Family Medical Leave Act, and the American Disabilities Act.
Maintains the medical privacy/confidentiality of all individuals and records at all times.
Education and Experience:
B.S. Degree in Nursing
Licenses and Certifications: Current Florida RN License, CPR Certification, expertise in Occupational Health and Safety Practices, OSHA Reporting regulations, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and Worker’s Compensation administration, and proficiency in MS Word/Excel are required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a COHN (Certification in Occupational Health Nursing), or CCM (Certification in Case Management) is desirable.
Minimum of 2-3 years experience working in Employee Health or Occupational Health, managing Worker’s Compensation, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and OSHA reporting programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages and directly supervises a total of 3 employees which consist of up to 2 Nurses and one clerk. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these staff and health service clinic. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
