```Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dietary Manager to join our team. As a Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our dietary department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services to our residents. Duties:
- Manage the daily operations of the dietary department, including meal planning, food preparation, and service
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and dietary restrictions
- Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal service
- Monitor inventory levels and order food and supplies as needed
- Train and supervise dietary staff, providing guidance and support as necessary
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of resident care
- Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and resident dietary information
Skills:
- Strong background in hospitality, food handling, or restaurant management
- Culinary expertise with knowledge of nutrition principles and dietary requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management
- Knowledge of shift management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines related to food service in healthcare settings
"Food establishments in California are required to have at least one certified food manager who has successfully passed an accredited food safety certification exam, such as ServSafe. Certification is valid for 5 years." (this is a State requirement) – must have qualification
A graduate of a state approved program that provides 90 hours or more of combined classroom instruction and instructor led interactive web based instruction in dietetic service. (This is the California Department of Public Health requirement) – if the candidate doesn’t have these qualifications, we would still interview them as long as they have 5 years of experience in Dietary Management.
