Job Description: Mesa Verde Country Club seeks a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will prepare, season, and cook a variety of food items, including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts, ensuring they meet our high standards of taste and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and enforce government health regulations, ensuring safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to maintain cleanliness and proper organization.
- Set up the cooking line with the necessary equipment and ingredients for the day's menu.
- Follow work orders, instructions, and recipes to prepare food items accurately.
- Cook, season, and plate food items according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Test foods to ensure proper cooking, seasoning, and temperature.
- Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Prepare specialty food items and desserts as required.
- Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fruits and vegetables.
- Process orders from the point of sale system promptly and accurately.
- Assist in serving prepared food from the steam table and preparing food items for service.
- Carve and trim meats for hot or cold service or sandwiches.
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food items, serving them to customers or servers.
- Assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
- Maintain a clean and organized cooking station, including breakdown and cleaning at the end of the shift.
- Attend training and development sessions as required.
- Adhere to MVCC employee policies and procedures, embodying MVCC's core values.
- Perform any other duties or requests assigned by the Sous Chefs, Executive Chef, or General Manager.
- Maintain regular attendance on Mesa Verde Country Club property.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
