Position Summary: An NYFF crew chief is vital to a project’s overall success. In this position you will be tasked with the responsibility of being in charge of the on-site production labor team. You are the “team leader” who will work hand-in-hand with the labor team. The crew chief is responsible for ensuring that all event production needs are met including on-time installation. The crew chief will be tasked with ensuring that both the NYFF sales team and clients’ needs, and expectations are met in order to ensure a successful event.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the on-site production labor team to ensure collaboration and communication throughout the event.
- Coaches’ production labor team as needed.
- Works closely with the production team including Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Sales.
- Responsible for overseeing all load-ins, load-outs.
- Responsible for ensuring that an event runs smoothly from inception to completion.
- Must be able to problem solve on-site to come up with solutions as needed.
- Review and approve production labor time sheets on assigned events.
- Manage all internal timelines and deliverables in collaboration with the sales lead on the event to ensure overall project success.
- Enforce safety standards, policy and procedures on-site.
- Ensures all operations are conducted with the safety of staff and clients as a priority
- Reports any on-site accidents or incidents to the Chief Administration Officer, Vice President of Operations and the Vice President of Sales immediately.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of production and event experience is required
- Must be professional in demeanor and appearance
- Overall understanding and knowledge of event production
- Able to lift 75 pounds+
- Must be able to work nights/weekends
- Willing to work OT if and when needed
- Speak and understand fluent English
- Have a valid Driver’s license
- Must have own form of transportation
- Quick learner, work well with others
- Must be detail oriented
- Experience with both union and non-union labor
