The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate records for raw materials and finished goods under Baking Company’s control, and ensuring customer inventory reporting is done accurately and in a timely manner.
· Ensure all incoming ingredients and packaging materials are registered in the electronic inventory record, including lot tracking information and customer ownership.
· Co-ordinate with Purchasing to ensure incoming materials are received in the expected quantity and on time; work with purchasing to rectify deviations.
· Complete periodic inventory counts of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods. Set targets for accuracy and measure against, and maintain electronic database with appropriate adjustments.
· Ensure required reporting to customers is complete and on-time.
· Identify ingredients and finished goods at risk of expiration, work cross-functionally to limit Baking Company’s exposure to write-offs.
· Take an active role in improving Warehouse’s use of electronic records and ERP systems.
· Assist in receiving deliveries: tag and label pallets prior to put-away, store pallets in warehouse.
· Assist in providing materials to Production and restocking unused materials after each production run.
