Responsibilities:
- Personal care: Assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Medication management: Ensuring that the individual takes their prescribed medications as directed, organizing medication schedules, and monitoring for any side effects or adverse reactions.
- Mobility assistance: Helping the individual move around safely, whether it's transferring from bed to chair, assisting with walking or using mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs.
- Household tasks: Performing household chores such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for the individual.
- Emotional support: Providing companionship, empathy, and encouragement to the individual, and actively listening to their concerns and feelings.
- Health monitoring: Keeping track of the individual's health status, including symptoms, vital signs, and any changes in condition, and communicating this information to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Advocacy: Acting as an advocate for the individual's needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate medical care, social services, and other necessary support.
- Care coordination: Collaborating with healthcare providers, social workers, and other professionals involved in the individual's care to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to caregiving.
- Respite care: Arranging for temporary relief or assistance from other caregivers to prevent burnout and maintain the caregiver's own physical and emotional well-being.
- Documentation and communication: Keeping accurate records of the individual's care, including medical history, treatment plans, and any changes in condition, and communicating effectively with other caregivers and family members involved in the caregiving process.
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or those in home care
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming

- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times

Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or in home care is preferred
- Knowledge of conflict management techniques to handle challenging situations effectively
- Understanding of resident rights and the ability to advocate for them
- Experience in case management and coordinating care for individuals

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs
- Attention to detail in documenting resident information accurately
