As a Ceramic Machining Assistant/Floater your primary tasks will be to assist machinists in keeping machines loaded, unloading machines, cleaning and processing parts, routine machine maintenance, and applying resources to maximize production velocity and yield.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Duties include operation of manual machines, part cleaning and transfer, and workflow optimization
- Coordinate with production management to target production bottlenecks
- Manage production priorities and weekly targets
- Operate as a vital team member in a fast paced, high volume machine shop
- Initiate action to prevent occurrence of product non-conformity
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Inspect parts that are manufactured and perform the related data entry
- Assure quality and production requirements are met, as per travelers and blueprints, etc.
- Report any equipment or facility defect(s) to supervisor.
- Comply with all TRS safety rules and company policies.
- Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported.
- Always wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area.
- Ability to perform additional tasks as required by management
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
- Experience in manufacturing and machining of ceramic or metal materials a plus
- Experience machining tight tolerance complex geometries to the part drawings
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Basic English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehend)
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and QC personnel
- Basic to intermediate shop math
- Ability to use and read measuring tool and devices as necessary for inspection of machined parts.
- Mechanical ability and understanding of engineering principles
- Ability to read technical blueprint/technical drawings
- Understanding of part tolerances.
- Able to work in a demanding fast paced environment.
- Experience recognizing mechanical dysfunctions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to practice teamwork and be safety oriented in a factory environment.
- Work with little or no supervision throughout shift.
- Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS /Work Environment
This job will be performed in a Manufacturing Environment.
Physical – Must be able to manipulate parts weighing up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
