- Ensure the accurate completion of financial activities including:
- Month-end financial closing schedule maintenance and accountability.
- Work-in-process accounting and reporting.
- Analyze transaction detail for accuracy and completeness.
- General journal entries
- Monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Ensure accurate payroll withholding and process any documentation needed.
- Book weekly payroll journal.
- Quarterly CAT filing
- Monthly Sales and Use Tax filing.
- Submit weekly H S A file from payroll for processing.
- Submit weekly 401K file from payroll processing.
- Workers Comp Accrual.
- Annual workers Comp audit true-up
- Monthly workers comp payment.
- Book prepaid journal entry each month.
- Verify payroll reports tie-out to bank withdrawal.
- Monthly benefits bill reconciliation.
- Assist to ensure the region’s financial records are kept in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee WIP Review process to ensure project level accounting is reflective of economic performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Highly proficient with fully integrated project-based accounting software platforms, ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), and advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP standards related to the role’s core activities; particularly percentage-of-completion revenue recognition rules as applied in a construction environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and strict confidentiality
