The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team in Van Wert, OH. You will play a key role in maintaining the functionality, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure and systems.
Job summary:
As the Systems Administrator, you are responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks within an organization. Your primary duties involve ensuring the integrity and security of IT infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support to users.
Responsibilities:
System Maintenance and Configuration:
o Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and software applications.
o Manage system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
o Monitor system resources and performance to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Network Administration:
o Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
o Configure network protocols, IP addressing, and security settings.
o Monitor network traffic and performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize network performance.
Security Management:
o Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and malware.
o Configure and manage security tools such as antivirus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption protocols.
o Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
Data Backup and Recovery:
o Develop and implement data backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
o Regularly back up critical data and test backup systems to verify their reliability.
o Perform data recovery procedures in case of system failures or data loss incidents.
User Support and Training:
o Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with system configurations.
o Create and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
o Train users on how to use IT systems effectively and securely.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
o Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance with IT policies and regulations.
o Maintain inventory records of hardware, software licenses, and other IT assets.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate with other IT professionals, such as network engineers, database administrators, and cybersecurity specialists, to solve complex issues and implement new technologies.
o Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide timely updates on IT projects and initiatives.
o Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Stay Updated with Technology Trends:
o Continuously update knowledge and skills by staying informed about the latest trends, developments, and best practices in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and networking.
Education and Experience:
- 4 year Bachelor’s degree in computer technologies or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within the transportation, logistics, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing complex systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize data to make informed decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong skillset utilizing spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) to make business decisions.
- Ability to successfully train, teach, guide, and assist others in understanding the usage of systems and technology.

- Lift, push and pull up to 30lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and working on a computer up to 10 hours per day

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
