IT Technician
At Braustin Homes, we thrive on all thing's technology. As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and applications. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing regular maintenance, and supporting end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Respond to technical support requests via phone, email, or in-person.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software updates.
- Provide support for network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless networks.
- System Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance on IT equipment, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, including antivirus and firewall management.
- User Assistance:
- Provide training and support to end-users on the use of software applications and IT systems.
- Create and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Assist users with backup and recovery procedures.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of support requests, solutions provided, and equipment inventory.
- Document and update technical procedures, manuals, and user guides.
- Generate reports on IT activities, incidents, and resolutions.
- Project Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate degree in Information Technology (This can be substituted for experience), Computer Science, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
- Experience with Windows, macOS.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of common software applications and IT systems.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Certifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and computer equipment.
Work Environment:
- Office setting with occasional requirements to work in server rooms or other technical environments.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to perform system upgrades or respond to emergencies.
