SUMMARY A certified healthcare employee who performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to assist in the daily tasks of the Pharmacy operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Fills inpatient, interdepartmental and rural clinic orders.
Answers and triages phone calls.
Processes and fills employee prescriptions.
Performs accurate and timely inpatient 24-hour unit dose and IV piggyback fill.
Prepackages medications; prepares extemporaneous doses.
Assures adequate inventory and supplies for successful pharmacy operations.
Accurately restocks EMS “crash” meds and assures availability of crash boxes.
Performs accurate and timely Diebold MedSelect fill based upon “Below Minimum” reports and Pharmacist’s check off.
Maintains cleanliness of department including IV Room.
Maintains and assures accuracy of drug charges, including pricing and debit/credits. .
Performs accurate and timely monthly drug storage area and narcotic inventory.
Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifying invoices against shipment and rectifying any discrepancies.
Assists in daily general clean up and maintenance of supplies.
Provides general assistance to Pharmacists.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma; nationally certified within 12 months.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, families and other employees or the organization.
