Dental Assisting Job Responsibilities:
- Dental assistants make sure exam rooms are ready, sterilize instruments and make sure all equipment needed is ready.
- A dental assistant must be familiar with dental terminology, processes and procedures. If no experienced dental assistant will train on the job.
- Know the difference between root canals, fillings, crowns and implants.
- Make sure instruments are readily available during dental procedures for dentists.
- Patient intake and taking dental x rays
- Learn how to do lab work when necessary
- Scheduling future appointments for patients.
- Knowledge of hygiene procedures to help patients understand the difference between a prophylaxis, full mouth debridement and scaling and root planing.
- Document patient exams and procedures
- The ability to communicate efficiently with patients regarding post op instructions
- Ability to aid in clerical and other work to help the office runs smoothly on a day to day basis
- Daily maintenance of the office
Qualifications:
- Dental Assisting experience preferred
- Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients
- Driven personality to want to strive to be the best in your profession and provide the best care for our patients
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
