The ideal candidate for this position must be a leader first and a manager second. The Executive will be responsible for leading the housekeeping department to success.
As the Executive Housekeeper, the ideal candidate will ensure that the highest standards for cleanliness and sanitation are maintained throughout the hotel. The Executive Housekeeper will ensure a consistent and high-quality guest experience by conducting thorough and detailed guest room inspections, ensuring staff productivity through the execution of other tasks and assignments as dictated by established housekeeping department and brand standards and procedures. Furthermore, the Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that all hotel operations are performed professionally and adhere to the brand and company standards.
Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
§ Promote positive moral and aggressively friendly attitudes.
§ Performing hotel administrative functions as required.
§ Work within budgeted guidelines for maximum revenues and within labor models.
§ Ensure 15-minute meetings are being conducted by the Housekeeping Manager each morning to communicate the goals for the day. Keep accurate records of the meetings daily.
§ Perform inspections in accordance with brand standards and according to established housekeeping department procedures.
§ Exercise appropriate procedures for key control and guest room security.
§ Immediately report, log, and transfer all lost and found items for safekeeping.
§ Promptly report any guest room maintenance issues to the Engineering department for corrective action.
§ Provide leadership to Room Attendants by cleaning rooms when necessary.
§ Assist in the on-boarding and training of new employees and in the overall performance evaluation of existing employees.
§ Ensure compliance with the company's safety and security programs, particularly for HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, MSDS and OSHA.
§ Ensure adherence to all company and brand policies, practices, procedures, and guidelines.
§ Anticipate and follow through on guests' service requests and needs.
§ Maintain a professional, cohesive team by hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and developing the team.
§ Maintain safety and security practices and have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
§ Responsible for ensuring all room attendants are always dressed to company policy and brand standards, this includes proper footwear, name tags, and uniforms.
§ Schedule monthly meetings with the Housekeeping Team and identifies areas for development and training needs and ensure that all training is effective.
§ Other duties as assigned that supports the brand promise by the Assistant General Manager, General Manager.
