As a Quality Technician (Calibration), your primary assigned task will be calibration. You will issue and return production gaging. You will calibrate the gaging that is calibrated onsite as well as send out gaging for calibrations to external labs when required. You will order gaging and ensure that we keep traceability of the certifications for all onsite gaging. Your secondary assigned task will be maintaining the Staging and Hold Areas and updating the Rejection and Hold Logs accordingly. You will be creating Quality Alerts when discrepant parts are found and then seek Team Lead and production sign-off with the Management Team. Then sending an electronic copy to Scheduling so the production job pack always has the latest alerts. As time allows, you will assist with performing inspections for 1st piece (before production begins), in-process or floor audits and final inspections.
Essential Duties:
Perform 1st piece, in-process and final inspections.
Maintain the Staging & Hold areas. This includes containing any nonconforming product found at final inspection.
Draft work instructions for 100% sorts or rework operations.
Maintain the GAGEtrak software. This includes calibrations and contacting 3rd party calibration labs for gages we are not able to calibrate in house.
Daily filing and clerical work.
Assist operators with quality needs.
Support the Quality Manager
Candidate Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years experience in quality control
Strong record keeping skills with an attention to detail
Ability to multi-task is preferred with an ability to memorize part numbers
A team player with excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills are required. Global Shop Solutions experience is a plus.
Supports all company goals and demonstrates initiative.
