Electronic Technician II (TIS/AIS)
DoD Secret Clearance Required
Location: Naval Air Station Fallon, NV
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School or vocational school, with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance.
· Ability to speak, read, and write English.
· Valid Local Driver License
· Current DoD SECRET security clearance
2 years’ demonstrated experience or skills in at least 3 all of the following areas:
· Digital/analog signal processing;
· Synchro-servo circuits;
· Video signal processing and recording;
· Digital/analog computer systems;
· DC power supplies;
· Test equipment;
· RF signal processing (VHF, UHF, and microwave);
· Low voltage AC equipment;
· Antenna systems;
· Primary and secondary power equipment;
· Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment;
· Portable AC generators.
· Physically able to assist in lifting/carrying AIS/PIP pods.
Position Description:
· Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
· Applies technical knowledge in troubleshooting, isolating malfunctions, repairing to the component level, and incorporating engineering changes.
· Repairs simple electronic equipment and takes test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
· Receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
· Performs organizational level repair when supervised
· Performs corrosion control on pods and serves as data entry point for pod data
· Performs other duties as assigned by competent authority to support mission success
· Documents maintenance actions in IEMS.
