Duties
Alliance for African Assistance is a refugee resettlement organization in San Diego, CA.
- Conduct psychotherapy sessions with individuals, couples, families, and groups
- Provide mental health counseling and support to patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults
- Assess patients' mental health conditions and develop personalized treatment plans
- Administer psychological assessments and tests to evaluate cognitive abilities, emotional functioning, and personality traits
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurse practitioner, and social workers/case managers/program managers to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Offer guidance and support to individuals with special needs or disabilities.
- Provide counseling and therapy for individuals experiencing trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Experience
- Doctoral degree in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution
- State licensure as a psychologist
- Experience in conducting psychotherapy and counseling sessions with diverse populations, including group therapy.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches and techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and family systems therapy
- Familiarity with special education services and therapies for individuals with disabilities
- Ability to assess and diagnose mental health disorders using standardized assessment tools
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients of all ages
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 16 per week
