We are seeking a personable and motivated sales person to handle inbound sales and service calls in support of a successful internet retailer of drapery hardware, privacy cubicle curtains, and custom curtains. The customers range from Do-It-Yourself home and business owners to Contractors, Architects, Interior Designers and Manufacturers. These customers are located through the US and Canada. To succeed, this individual will need to effectively handle the following responsibilities:
- Handle inbound phone and email inquiries from customers
- Provide pricing and quotes, product information and literature, samples, and support for customers as needed
- Comprehend customer needs (via conversation, architectural drawings, and written specifications) and recommend a product configuration to meet those requirements
- Follow up on previous customer inquiries and quotes to close sales these leads
- Convert customer feedback into implementable suggestions (e.g. product enhancements, catalog or web site improvements)
- Prioritize customer satisfaction over pursuit of the next sale
- Willingness to truthfully tell the customers if our company can’t clearly meet their needs
- Quickly ramp up on product and application knowledge
Qualifications required:
- 2 years of telephone sales or customer support experience required
- Experience with curtains or draperies and/or interior design preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Adept at using the Internet, and general computer skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service aptitude with a priority placed on customer satisfaction
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and tirelessly work leads
- Team player who proactively seeking out ways to pitch in and prefers to stay busy
- Motivated with high energy and a desire to sell
- Willingness to be coached and deploy new tactics to achieve results
- Reliable transportation
Targeted office hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM M-F but these may vary over time. Job includes paid vacation and personal days, but no health insurance at this time. Year-end bonus typically rewarded. Compensation commensurate with experience, and includes a base salary plus group sale commission.
