2/3s Classroom: 2 teachers with 8 students (1:4 ratio)
3/4s Classroom: 3 teachers with 16 students (1:5 ratio)
Hours
- Minimum 20 Hours a week
- Monday through Friday 1:30PM until 5:30PM
- Optional Additional Hours: Substituting when needed from 7:15AM to 1:30PM
Qualifications
- Nurturing disposition with children and coworkers
- First Aid and Pediatric CPR certification or willing to complete in 1 year
- Experience working with groups of young children
- Experience working on a team with others
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Required background check and Clearinghouse fingerprinting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and adheres to all PCMDS policies and procedures.
- Providing age appropriate care and education to children.
- Following the direction of the classroom lead teacher.
- Assist other care givers in preparation of materials and ideas for lessons.
- Responsible for the health, welfare, and safety of the children, as well as daily care routines including bathroom/diapering and snack.
- Assist in keeping materials and furniture clean and sanitized.
- Any other job related duties as assigned.

- Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Must be sensitive to individual children’s differences and needs, and be willing to adjust the program & curriculum to meet those individual needs.
- Must be motivated to learn and grow in an educational environment; and be willing to continually increase knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Must be able to relate with and speak to parents in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Must be willing to work in a team environment; be willing to share ideas & be open to other’s ideas; be flexible & willing to compromise.
- Full mobility with young children examples include sitting, picking up children, crawling, working on eye level.
- Must supervise children at all times.
Summary
As a Part-Time Afternoon Teacher for 2/3s and 3/4s, you will utilize your expertise in early childhood education, classroom management, and lesson planning to create a nurturing learning environment. Your strong communication skills and experience with preschool-aged children will be essential in fostering a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere. Additionally, your knowledge of childhood development and CPR certification will ensure the safety and well-being of the students under your care.
