The City of Elgin is seeking applicants for two Human Resources (HR) Generalist positions. These roles encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities critical to the efficient operation of the City's HR department. From overseeing the full-cycle recruiting process to facilitating seamless onboarding, these positions are pivotal in attracting and integrating new talent. In addition to recruitment, HR Generalists assist managers in resolving job-related issues and cultivate a supportive employee relations environment, handling matters confidentially and promoting a respectful workplace culture. Responsibilities also include data gathering and analysis, along with various administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency. With a proactive approach to personnel management and the ability to independently manage diverse HR functions, HR Generalists uphold the smooth operation of HR activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Public or Business Administration, or a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years' human resources experience are required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
