Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 5 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support, gathering data and preparing workload status reports.
To qualify for the CG-7 applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Education: Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
Completion of a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement SAA. Click here for Superior Academic Achievement qualification requirements.
OR
Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 5 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support, gathering data and preparing workload status reports.
OR
Combination of education and experience: A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meet 100% of the qualification requirements for this position (only educational credits earned beyond the bachelor's degree can be used in this calculation).
