POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in the delivery of primary pediatric health services and pediatric patient care management in a clinical setting for physicians and mid-level practitioners (Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician’s Assistants) as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Warmly welcomes patients and families, and escorts them back to the exam room.
- Performs screening tests for which he or she has been prepared by education and experience.
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Records patient's histories and subjective current status and vital signs.
- Initiates medical record notation for patient visits in the electronic chart. Completes documentation as directed by the provider.
- Answers telephone, takes off voicemail messages, responds to calls per direction of providers, and refers callers to the appropriate individual.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and medications.
- Give injections, apply dressings, assist physicians with procedures, and complete diagnostic labs.
- Participates in education, teaching, and counseling patients to follow provider directions and promote optimal well-being and health.
- Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Orders and maintains a proper inventory of clinical supplies and equipment.
- Maintains patient information with strict confidentiality following HIPPA.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
