We have an opening on our Quality team for QA Technician!
The QA Technician conducts measurement studies and completes documentation involved with PPAP, PQP and similar customer required quality assurance submission packages. This position performs first article inspections on new or changed tooling and vendor supplied parts such as subpanels; and maintains records of these inspections.
- Operates MicroVu Coordinate Measurement Machine and utilizes calipers, gauge pins and other measurement tools to determine part acceptability.
- Maintains responsibility for first piece approval on die cut, punch press or I-cut parts at set-up.
- Performs dimensional layouts for First Article Inspection Reports, PPAP submissions, PQP, and SVPP submissions.
- Performs dimensional inspection of new tooling, changed tooling, and the last impression on production tooling:
- Measures die strikes from new or changed tooling and documents the results.
- Initiates a supplier corrective action if tooling is found to be out-of-tolerance.
- Measures production sample parts and subpanels as needed to verify the tooling remains within specification and determines whether or not tool maintenance is required prior to future runs.
- Helps collect data and performs capability analysis to aide strategic process improvement initiatives.
- Measures and documents findings on customer returned parts for corrective action response.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of technical school or other equivalent post-secondary education required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience CMM experience preferred.
Skills and abilities crucial to success in this role:
- Basic knowledge of statistics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work proficiently with computers in Outlook, Excel, Word, stand-alone quality- and production-related software systems.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently without continued support from others.
- Ability to interact positively with multiple people in multiple departments/teams in situations that can sometimes be very demanding and constantly changing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to operate dimensional measuring equipment.
- Ability to create formulas and calculations in Excel.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
