About the Role
We are looking for a Steady Extra Fountain Worker / Barista to join the team at our hit show ABSINTHE which performs seven nights a week at the Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The Fountain Worker is responsible for executing the specific menu to create a dining experience that guests will savor long after they have taken the last bite. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and personal standards and ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and must be able to communicate directly with customers. Ultimately, you will ensure we provide excellent guest service by preparing polished yet unpretentious dishes and delivering them consistently. This position is on call and the hourly rate is $15.42/hr.
Primary Job Duties
- Set up a work station according to kitchen guidelines
- Prepare, seasons, finishes, and garnishes designated recipes/menu items as assigned in accordance with established recipes and guidelines
- Read tickets and prepare food items accordingly with 100% accuracy
- Maintain quality standards set forth by management and report any inconsistencies as necessary
- Work cleanly and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with SNHD guidelines
- Accurately handling food items to minimize waste and maintain health code
- Maintain a true understanding of the food regulations with the ability to recite upon request
- Stock stations for the next shift
- Operate kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary manner with complete understanding of how the equipment works
- Work a station independently and efficiently with little or no assistance during regular business volumes
- Take part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
- Demonstrating a passion for details and a willingness to learn
- Upholding service preparation and culinary standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
- Prepare special requests as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist in the training of new employees as requested
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Requires 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a high-volume professional kitchen or culinary school environment
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques and proper knife skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English
- Excellent customer service skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Possess a commitment to quality service
- Following a conditional offer of employment, able to show proof of being fully vaccinated, able to get vaccinated within 7 days, or have a qualifying medical or religious exception
- Participate and pass background check and drug test
- Willing to participate in employer-paid Covid-19 mitigation protocols which can include weekly testing and onsite screening
- Must have valid work authorization of the US
- At least 21 years of age
Preferred:
- At least two years of experience in a similar professional kitchen environment
- Serve Safe Certification for Food Handling
- Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant
