Duties and Responsibilities:
The maintenance supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of the maintenance team and ensures the efficient operation and upkeep of equipment and facilities. The incumbent leads the effective execution of all plant maintenance and assigned projects, in support of safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
While performing hands-on maintenance tasks, this position is responsible for directing the daily workload, inspecting for quality of repairs, and facilitating communication between maintenance and operations teams. Collaboration with other departments to address facility-related issues and involvement with budgeting and cost control measures related to maintenance operations is also expected.
Key duties include but not limited to the following:
- Ensure all maintenance and production activities are carried out according to established OSHA, EPA, and site’s safe work practices and procedures.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and work performed by contractors in order to get planned and unplanned maintenance needs completed in an efficient and effective manner.
- Responsible for safety, quality of work, and productivity of maintenance technicians through direct leadership and coordination with production department.
- Guarantee prompt assignment of work to available personnel considering complexity, skills, and individual abilities.
- Balance priorities, manpower, material, and equipment availability to develop department and individual work schedules.
- Manage and perform repairs, alterations, and general maintenance of the plant to improve productivity of the operation.
- Determine the need for major repairs and provide leadership in troubleshooting equipment.
- Utilize QT9 and Limble document and develop a maintenance plan and review available planned job packages for completeness and correctness.
- Keep records of all maintenance and repairs, ensuring labor and materials are reported daily through Limble.
- Maintain adequate inventory of all critical parts to prevent unnecessary plant shutdowns, submitting purchase requests for tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Support efforts for the large capital projects within the plant. Assisting in the planning, scheduling, and implementation, as well as providing budgetary information as required.
- Participate and Lead in maintenance efforts to review new equipment design, layout, and safety related aspects.
- Perform plant weekend duty as assigned.
- Perform emergent repairs during off-hours when critical and necessary.

Requirements: Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
- High school diploma, trade school certification or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing plant.
- Advanced level of mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to read, interpret operating conditions, and comprehend electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings/sketches, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, floor plans, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and hardwired relay logic systems troubleshooting practices.
- Hydraulic, pneumatic troubleshooting and piping and pump experience.
Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check and pre-placement physical (including respirator) and pre-employment drug-screen.
