We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Accounts Associate to join our healthcare team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the medical billing and accounts functions, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of claims, handling accounts receivable, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The Medical Billing and Accounts Associate will play a crucial role in contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of medical claims to insurance providers.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and demographic information for accuracy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claim processing.
Accounts Receivable Management:
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely payment and resolution of outstanding balances.
- Coding and Documentation:
- Support proper coding of medical procedures and diagnoses for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with the billing team to address coding-related issues and discrepancies.
- Stay informed about coding changes and participate in relevant training sessions.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Assist in generating and analyzing reports related to billing and accounts receivable performance.
Provide regular updates to the team on key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
Participate in discussions on optimizing financial processes and enhancing revenue cycle management.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of billing and accounts transactions.
- Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other members of the billing and accounts team to achieve departmental goals.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in a related field is a plus).
- Previous experience in a healthcare billing or accounts role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical billing processes, coding, and reimbursement systems.
- Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience with Tebra (Kareo) Preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively within a team
