This is a part-time position with Tecknomic and the project is with the DC Fire and Medical Emergencies Department. This is an onsite role in Washington DC. Senior Trainer will design and deliver DEI training to just over 1000 FEMS employees during the 3rd FY Quarter (all training sessions must be completed by December 2024). Sessions should be designed for 3.5-hour duration and with a class size of no more than 25 per session.
DEI training will be entitled: Leading with Awareness and content will be centered around the following:
provide insight and collective understanding of the language and science that undergirds implicit bias, equity, diversity, and inclusion: how these concepts impact our society, organizations, and specifically the DC Fire and
EMS workplace and culture; and raise awareness in recognizing and addressing these topics.
Scope of Work:
The Trainer will provide training to include compelling videos, scenarios, and activities to
engage participants on the following topics:
1 Introduction to Allyship
2 Foundations of Allyship
3 Building Cultural Competence
4 Active Listening and Effective Communication
5 Creating Inclusive Workspaces
6 Allyship in Action
7 Sustaining Allyship and Leadership
8 Conclusion and Reflection
The Trainer will provide strategies and techniques to manage allyship will provide participants with tools to positively impact their work environment and community engagement. Consistent with previous training efforts, the contractor will provide evaluations and share the summary results of all training sessions with DC Fire and EMS.
The Trainer will provide 40 training classes, based on a collaboratively agreed upon schedule with DC Fire and EMS, to include two classes per day onsite, offered on five consecutive days. There is also the potential of a few weekend classes.
