Senior Database Administrator - Work From Home
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Senior Database Administrator to join a growing IT team. This position requires experience administrating MS SQL Server (creating indexes, DB maintenance, backups/recovery, etc.). This position also requires DDL experience. This position is 100% Remote.
Senior Database Administrator Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 support for firm critical databases.
- Perform troubleshooting, resolution and root cause analysis for database and application specific incidents.
- Perform schema design, capacity planning and change control management tasks.
- Execute database baselining, benchmarking, performance analysis and tuning.
- Maintain and enhance database maintenance routines.
- Work with company technical leads and development teams to create and execute project plans in line with customer expectations and company strategic goals.
- Execute database backup and recovery operations, database patching and upgrades and implementation of database security policies.
- Integrate SQL systems with third-party tools and environments.
- Document policies, processes and procedures.
- Cross-train members of the organization on how to use databases effectively and efficiently.
- Support other key initiatives as the business dictates.
Senior Database Administrator Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university in computer science, information science or related technical field.
- 5-7 years of DBA experience.
- Experience administrating MS SQL Server (creating indexes, DB maintenance, backups/recovery, etc.) is required.
- DDL experience is required.
- Need experience with MSSQL, Postgres and InfluxDB.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, able to work independently as well as a team player.
- Solid project management skills; able to take a project from inception to completion.
- Knowledge of database design methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of database security methods and procedures.
- Understanding of ETL best practices across the enterprise.
- Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profile and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Expertise of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for MS SQL.
- Experience in implementing operational automation utilizing a coming scripting language.
- Knowledge of indexes, index management and statistics.
- Experience with database backup, restore and recovery models.
- Exposure with Linux in conjunction with PostgreSQL and MySQL is a plus.
- Experience with a programming language such as .Net, C#, C++ is preferred.
- MCTS, MCITP, MVP certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
