Thomas Solutions Incorporated is seeking for talented Social Media Strategist, Media Relation Strategist, and Social Media Specialist, to provide high-quality content creation, strategic communications services, and conferencing support to the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs’ (OJP) stakeholders and audiences nationwide.
The position is in Alexandria, Virginia at contractor site.

Social Media Strategist
Job Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement and drive social media platform growth. Create, curate, and manage content. Track and analyze platforms and report out strategies to continue growth or provide recommendations based on opportunities to achieve objectives and goals. Monitor social media channels for trends, insights, and conversations relevant to the brand, theme or topics. Provide recommendations on how OJP social channels can lean into trends and report out the data from the execution. Analyze and report on social media performance using relevant metrics and tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice across the platforms. Create strategies for an audience-based approach. Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices and emerging platforms to continuously improve strategies. Stay informed about changes in algorithms and adjust strategies accordingly. Update and review the OCOM editorial calendar to ensure social media strategies are aligned with OCOM priorities. Experiment with new strategies, content formats and platforms to drive innovation and growth.
Minimum Experience:Five years’ experience as a social media strategist; proficiency in social media management tools and analytic platforms

Media Relations Strategist
Job Summary
Assists OCOM in maximizing media strategies and tactics with measurable impact. Develops media strategies, plans and campaigns. Crafts key messaging and public affairs guidance documents. Builds and maintains a subject matter expert database for media engagements. Develops story pitches to capture media attention and engagements. Uses the Cision platform to enter media engagements, track coverage and issue monthly media metrics reports. Analyzes and interprets data to measure media engagement effectiveness.
Minimum Experience: Five years of professional experience working in media relations and using Cision platform.
Education Requisite:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or public relations
- Five (5) years of related experience (or, alternatively, master’s degree in communications, public relations and three years of related experience).
Social Media Specialist
Job Summary
Manages the OJP social media presence, creates engaging copy and social media content for audience-based strategies. Develops digital communication products. Writes social media content highlighting OJP announcements, reports, publications, press releases, website content, job postings and open press events, and integrates creative ways to connect the public with OJP. Ability to analyze and interpret data and draw actionable insights to grow social platforms and increase audience engagement. Ability to write and edit copy to dynamically engage a variety of audiences. Stays informed on industry trends and innovations. Assists the digital media team with the planning, organization and scheduling of social media content. Assists OCOM staff with researching and writing creative communication products, sometimes on complex and controversial subjects, for dissemination on OJP digital platforms. Assists with organizing and updating the digital media content calendar, commemorative event calendar and social media scheduling calendar.
Minimum Experience: Five years of direct relevant work experience in social media. Must have strong understanding of social media platforms, audiences, and best practices. Excellent storytelling and oral/written communication skills required. Requires strong organization skills to coordinate social media storytelling across OJP and its programs.
